life update.

Sophomore year of college starts in…25 days, and I move-in in 23 days! The zoo job is almost over. Only 2 more days of camp this summer, I’ve only been there 3 weeks, and I’m exhausted! Summer school ends in a few days. I just have a paper to write, a test to take, a lab report, and 2 homework sessions; so, not very much!! I still have my pool job, but I stop that the 20 of August. That’s about it! Just various meetings with friends before we part for school and various appointments!

goodnight!

I love, love, love giraffes. They are one of my favorite animals! They’re so tall and awkward, and when they run. Oh man, it’s the coolest thing ever. By the way, this is Zahra at our local zoo, photo snapped this morning.

“You see ‘em drop like flies from the bright, sunny skies. They come knocking at your door with this look in their eyes. You got one good trick, and you’re hanging on, you’re hanging on to it.”

Come Back When You Can by Barcelona

I’ve been led on to think that we’ve been trying for too long. Every time we drift we’re forcing what is wrong. At last that voice is gone. Please take your time, but you’ve got to know that I am taking sight. Oh, you look good, with your patient face and wandering eye. Don’t hold this war inside. Come back when you can. Let go, you’ll understand. You’ve done nothing at all to make me love you less, so come back when you can. You left your home; you’re so far from everything you know. Your big dream is crashing down and out your door. Wake up and dream once more. Come back when you can. Let go, you’ll understand. You’ve done nothing at all to make me love you less, so come back when you can. Come back, I’ll help you stand. Let go and hold my hand. If all you wanted was me, I’d give you nothing less. So come back when you can

nothing in your life is fair. you deserve better than what you’re getting. only 3 more years to put up with the crap that’s given to you. you have to do it. you have to make it. continue this obnoxious battle you’re stuck in. you’re winning, you’re always going to win because it’s you. think about all the good times, and use those to keep you going. anchors, lobsters, bombillas, scarves; whatever it takes. you have to do it.

hold me steady.

day eight-short term goals

I don’t have many short term goals. I know I want to make it out of summer not exhausted. I want to pass my 3 summer classes. I want to road trip it to Chicago this fall and just walk around aimlessly (after shopping, of course). I want to get my second year of college started. I want to have an awesomely decorated dorm room. But mostly, I just want to maintain my recent contentment.

Hello! A couple days ago, Jamie asked me to be a guest writer on her blog. Clearly, I accepted. So here I am, guest blogging away! I am currently listening to this song “Almost Everything” by this band i just discovered, Wakey! Wakey!. I am currently obsessed with this song. The music. It’s wonderful. I love the piano at the beginning. For me, it gives off a sense of nostalgia. I love the word nostalgia. I love this song. It’s…happy. Warning right now; I like using ellipses. Anywho, I woke up at six this morning. For no purpose at all. Actually…I originally had planned to run. Then it rained. I also wanted to head out early to buy some canvases. The painting kind. This didn’t work out so efficiently either.  But…I bought boots today! They’re short and gray and scrunchy. I lovesss them. I bought other clothing as well. Not much though. I really want those canvases…perhaps tomorrow! Maybe i’ll get up early again! I love mornings. I love them especially because my family tends to stay in bed late and I, not so much. I adore having mornings to myself. Serenity and privacy. It’s lovely. Mornings also have a wonderful scent about them, a fresh feeling, and watercolor skies on early, sunny days are so beautiful. Fresh start. Ahh…you should know, I am about 3 and a half years younger than Jamie. Which means, I’m still in high school. And I’m fully looking forward to college. I too, plan on going to Maine in the next 3 years. Husson College, in Bangor, Maine. That is where my heart is set. I don’t have a specific major set in my mind just yet, but I do love science. I just know that there is much going on at this point in time, and I want out. I may learn to appreciate this whole high school situation by senior year. Maybe. I usually look back on school years and think about what i enjoyed, rather than loving it as it’s happening. I shall try and make the best of it, regardless. But i just moved! So that just. Makes it a touch harder to be optimistically jumping up and down excited. I’m not familiar with anyone who preforms these actions in the first place. So, I think, the sooner I start, the sooner I can finish. Get out and get on. Looking forward helps. Thinking of Maine helps.

“All that they see is the view from outside the door. They don’t realize a thing. It’s so much more.”

Understand that friends come and go, but with those precious few, you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.

Mornings.

“The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn’t, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there.”

The place where I lie my head.

My bed. Some days it’s cleaner, others it is messier. This is one of those in-between days. I never make my bed, unless my parents are coming to visit. Morgan probably gets agitated occasionally, but she gets over it. What’s the point of making it if I’m just going to sleep in it later?!

Cheer Up Sleepy, Jean!

It’s currently 1:26 am, Wednesday, January 20th, 2010. I have class at 9 am across campus. I have to wake up at 7:45. Can you say, “eff my life?” I’m just sitting here on my bed listening to the wonderful Lady Gaga while my roommate is across the way, writing in her blog. I think she’s having fun!

Fire Drill, ugh.

Caught in a Romance Gone Awry?

I love to read.

The Shack that’s in the top left corner there is my best friend, Jackie’s book. I love that book like none other. It’s just a lot to grasp so she let me keep it a little longer so I can absorb it all.

Beyond my habitual reading, I’ve also been listening to Lady Gaga all day. I love her album,  The Fame Monster. I find her to be so talented. Love it! Nothing else new really has gone on here the past day…”I want your love and I want your revenge. You and me could write a bad romance. Oh oh oh ohhh, caught in a bad romance.”

So here’s the thing…

That’s my best friend, Jackie, and I skype-ing away!
